System crashes when printing after installing Windows updates KB5000802 and/or KB5000808
After the update KB5000802 and/or KB5000808 has been automatically installed by Windows the PC gives some unexpected results when using it. Usually programs crash and close – particularly when printing.
To fix the issue the update KB5000802 and/or KB5000808 needs to be uninstalled. These are the steps for Windows 10:
· Click Start and then the settings cog
· Type “Update” in the search bar and select “View Update History” from the results.
· Select “Uninstall updates”
· Find KB5000802 or KB5000808 in the list – use the search bar at the top if you cannot see it.
· With KB5000802 or KB5000808 selected click “Uninstall”
· Let the process complete and restart the PC
- Repeat the process for the other KB if required
The update is now removed. However that is not to say Windows wont install it again. We suggest using the “Show or hide updates” tool from Microsoft (program download from Microsoft here) to hide the update and prevent Windows installing it again
